The specialist responsible sourcing program, ICTI Ethical Toy Program (IETP) is pleased to announce several promotions within the organization. These promotions reflect their significant contributions to the organization.

The Financial Times ran an article entitled 'China factories use childcare offer to lure migrant workers' (paywall). This article covered our worker well-being programs to support workers with left-behind children.

The LEGO Group has become the latest company to join the Ethical Toy Program as a Buyer Member. LEGO will use our Connect platform to monitor and manage their suppliers certified in our program, as well as gaining access to insights and support from our expert team.

The ICTI Ethical Toy Program (IETP) team will be available for 1-on-1 discussions with individuals who are keen to learn about social compliance standards, the business benefits we bring, ask questions on individual cases that require our advice, or share feedback with us between 8-10 April2019.

The manufacturing workforce in China is comprised mostly of internal migrant workers. As factories have started to resume operations, some of their workforce that traveled home for Chinese New Year may not have returned to their positions as soon as they wished to be because of disruption caused by COVID-19.

The ICTI Ethical Toy Program’s new audit checklist and updated certification methodology, developed in response to industry consultation and feedback, are launching this week.

The Ethical Toy Program Worker Helpline has offered free, confidential information and advice to thousands of factory workers since its launch in 2010. The Helpline supports the welfare of toy factory workers, and is dedicated to helping workers maintain a good state of mind to help them face their work and personal matters positively, whilst also promoting harmonious working environments at factories.
