Giving Tuesday, celebrated annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, is a global movement that highlights the power of generosity and collective action.
The Ethical Supply Chain Program (ESCP) is a multi-stakeholder initiative dedicated to advancing worker well-being in the supply chain. Giving Tuesday therefore holds particular significance for us. It is an opportunity to rally support for our mission to enhance the lives of workers through targeted programs that promote well-being.
As a registered charity with Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) with over 15 years’ operating worker well-being initiatives, we are able to employ funding in both an efficient and meaningful manner. We understand the critical challenges facing workers, their employers and associated businesses. From mental health support to training and childcare services, these initiatives are vital for creating a healthier, more empowered and stable workforce.
Giving Tuesday reminds us that improving worker well-being is not a one-person effort—it requires collaboration. In 2022, we launched an ambitious goal; to benefit 30,000 children through 100 Family-Friendly Spaces and publicly recognising 50 factories as Family-Friendly by the end of 2025. With just over 12 months left, we are well on the way to achieving this ambition, but this is only thanks to collaborative effort from program funders, participating factories and communities.
Giving Tuesday provides an excellent platform to spread awareness about important causes. With the power of social media and the collective use of the #GivingTuesday hashtag, we aim to inspire more individuals and organizations to join our mission.
Giving Tuesday is not just about fundraising; it’s about reinforcing the belief that by working together, we can create environments where workers thrive.
