Giving Tuesday, celebrated annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, is a global movement that highlights the power of generosity and collective action.
The Ethical Supply Chain Program (ESCP), from the ICTI CARE Foundation Asia Limited, is a multi-stakeholder, non-profit organisation, dedicated to advancing the care economy and worker well-being in the supply chain. Giving Tuesday therefore holds particular significance for us. It is an opportunity to rally support for our mission to enhance the lives of workers through targeted programs that promote well-being.
As a registered charity with Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) with over 15 years’ experience operating worker well-being initiatives, we have a record of successful funding deployment, making a difference where it matters and positively impacting workers directly. We understand the critical challenges facing workers, their employers and associated businesses.
From addressing gender imbalances, through to enhancing access to childcare and ensuring workers have access to effective grievance mechanisms our initiatives are creating healthier, more empowered and stable workforces.
2.4 billion women globally are not afforded equal economic opportunity and this year’s Global Gender Gap Report stated it will take 5 Generations (124years) to achieve gender equality at current rate of progress.
That is why this Giving Tuesday, we are spotlighting our Gender Equality program, which has been developed for suppliers in any industry. This program enables companies to take action to ensure equality in the workplace, empower female workers and build HR capabilities. Together we can make progress to achieve the UnitedNations Sustainable Development Goal no.5: Achieve gender equality and empower women and girls.
“Progress to date on achieving gender equality is simply not good enough. That is why we are taking action; we are aiming for 100% of suppliers working with ESCP to receive our Gender Equality training by the end of 2025; impacting over 1,000,000 workers.” – Carmel Giblin, President & CEO of the Ethical Supply Chain Program.
Giving Tuesday also reminds us that improving worker well-being is not a one-person effort—it requires collaboration. Giving Tuesday is not just about fundraising; it’s about reinforcing the belief that by working together, we can create environments where workers thrive. This December 3rd, we invite you to take part in this global movement by supporting our Gender Equality program and helping us make workplaces more equitable and supportive for everyone. Every contribution, big or small, moves us closer to a world where well-being is a priority for all.
