The Audit Checklist draws on conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and other initiatives to promote fair labor practices.

The Ethical Supply Chain Program Audit Checklist was originally based on the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) Code of Business Practices but has since evolved to incorporate other ethical issues and best practices.
