This year, marks the 6th year since the launch of the Family-Friendly Spaces (FFS) program. This program is a social initiative that has been tailor-made for the manufacturing industry with the goal of providing child care services to left-behind children and the children of migrant workers, as well as to strengthen the parent-child bond for migrant workers during the summer holidays.

IETP Worker Voice Pilot is underway after a successful kick-off event in Shenzhen

During the kick-off event, the President & CEO of the ICTI Ethical Toy Program, Ms. Carmel Giblin, shared the objectives of the pilot, encouraged participants to share feedback with us anytime during the pilot and to join us to evaluate the program once it is completed. Representatives from Micro Benefits introduced their company, the functions of the “Company IQ” platform as well as its implementation process with demonstration.

IETP partners to create the world’s first virtual supply chain monitoring platform

The platform collects and surfaces data on factory-level working conditions through evidentiary documentation, interactive conferencing and multi-stage verification. Both Workers and Managers will be involved in the data inputs, ensuring that we hear directly from Workers as part of our assurance process. Supporting the platform design process has been the IETP Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) which members include senior representatives from major brands and retailers, toy manufacturers and business associations. Inspiring the next generation of responsible toy makers

I recently had the privilege of speaking to the Toy Design class at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Led by Judy Ellis, a 2013 Toy Hall of Fame Inductee, this first-of-its-kind program teaches the next generation of toy makers, designers, and inventors, providing them with the skills they need to create safe, socially responsible toys that entertain, educate, and inspire kids of all ages.
